Matt Grundy
President, Lead Designer
With an Educational Degree in Architecture and Building Engineering Technology, Matt provides creative and interesting kitchen and bath design solutions for every project. He does this by listening to your specific needs and putting his 30+ years of expertise to use. Matt has twin daughters, a grandson and resides in Barre Town. Steve Gilman
Operations | Project | IT Manager
Steve is a dedicated professional with over 35 years of experience in business management and has overseen a very diverse range of client projects. Steve worked for us 15 years ago and has come back to assist the company with our tremendous growth and technology needs. His knowledge of Builder Specialties K+B and the kitchen and bath industry, as well as his technology background, is invaluable to us and our clients. Steve is in charge of managing the company and works with our team to keep all of our projects running smoothly. Along with his numerous business accomplishments, Steve has a distinguished community service background as a longtime volunteer with the Central VT Chamber of Commerce (Board Chair, President, and VP), as well as many years of service with the Vermont Mountaineers of the New England Collegiate Baseball League that has produced several MLB players. He was also a volunteer firefighter and EMT. Steve and his wife Linda have three daughters, two grandsons, and reside in East Montpelier.
Bennet McFaun
Sales & Systems Manager
Bennet McFaun is the Sales and Systems Manager at Builder Specialties, where he helps customers with kitchen and bathroom design, cabinet selections, countertops, bathroom vanities, quoting, and project coordination. He works with homeowners, contractors, designers, developers, and multifamily housing customers on new construction, remodeling, and larger housing projects.
With experience in residential construction estimating, manufactured and modular home design and sales, and project workflow systems, Bennet brings practical construction knowledge and a detail-focused approach to every project, using state-of-the-art tools to help keep designs, estimates, orders, and customer communication organized.
Outside of work, Bennet is active in the Central Vermont community. He is a Life Member of the VFW Auxiliary, a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Elks BPOE #1535, and the Barre Fish and Game Club, and serves as a Director of the Williamstown Fish and Game Club. He also serves the Town of Barre as a member of the Planning Commission and Development Review Board. In his free time, Bennet enjoys riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, hunting, fly fishing, and staying involved in hockey as a referee and officials instructor.
Liam Quinlan
Designer
With two decades of hands-on experience in the trades, Liam brings a rare combination of real-world craftsmanship and design insight to his work in sales. His roots run deep in millwork and cabinetry, spending nearly 5 years working his way from an assembly floor through engineering and drafting in local cabinet shops. That foundational knowledge then carried into CAD drafting across a range of industries, including structural steel, HVAC systems, and high-end interior design, giving him a well-rounded understanding of how spaces are truly built from the ground up.
Today, Liam channels that expertise into helping clients turn their visions into reality, bringing both the technical know-how and the creative eye to every project. When he's not working with clients, he's at home with his wife and three young boys.
Michael Rutkovsky
Production Manager/Designer/Field Service
Michael is a seasoned professional with a proven track record of customer service. He has over thirty years of sales and management experience. His entrepreneurial endeavors include opening a full-service photo lab and framing business. Using his cabinet-making skills, Michael transformed an empty space into an efficient, well-merchandised retail business.
Michael’s diverse background includes art school, which provided a fundamental foundation in creative enterprise and interdisciplinary art and design. His experience at the Massachusetts College of Art and Rhode Island School of Design affords Michael the tools needed to blend design principles with custom cabinet fabrication. Michael also has experience with architectural woodworking and cabinet-making, including residential and commercial design and installation. Michael and his wife Martina reside in Brookfield.
Colin Sweeney
Field Service Delivery
Colin joined our growing Team in 2024 to fill a much-needed Field Service delivery position. His multi-faceted background has prepared him well for this challenge. He already knows many of our customers and contractors that we work with. Welcome aboard Colin!
